ALBANY – On Saturday, March 30, 2024, the angels of heaven welcomed Anna Maria Galluzzo into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family at her home.  She was the daughter of Vincenzo and Maria Torre, born in Italy on October 8, 1935.  She emigrated to the United States in 1960 with her husband Vincent.  Anna was a selflessly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a self-employed seamstress who made beautiful creations for her family and others.  She loved cooking authentic Italian dishes and desserts, as well as planting flowers all around her house.  Anna was a very spiritual and religious woman who loved attending many types of spiritual retreats.  Anna was previously a communicant of St. James, St. Margaret Mary’s, and All Saints Catholic churches and more recently St. Pius X Church.

Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband Vincent.  She is survived by her son Carlo; her daughters Josephine (Richard) Davis, Maryanne (Joe) Tirino-Mitchell; her five cherished grandchildren Sabrina Mullady (Kevin), Nick, Vincent, and Anthony Tirino, and Brianna Galluzzo; her sister and brother Ernesta Lombardo and Salvatore (Francesca) Torre of Reggio Calabria, Italy; her sisters-in-law Maria Torre of Reggio Calabria, Italy and Carmela Torre of Toronto, Canada; and by several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers Angelo and Gianni Torre, her brother-in-law Antonio Lombardo; and her son-in-law Nick Tirino.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at St. Pius X Church, Crumitie Road, Loudonville on Friday from 10:30 am – 11:30 am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am, and entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent in Anna’s name to “God’s Angels on Earth,” the Community Hospice, mailed to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to her wonderful, caring and supportive team of personal aides: Barbara Donnelly, Kelly Pellegrino, and Joan Lindl.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
