Anna Marie Thorne

ALBANY – Anna Marie Thorne, 94, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albany. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Angelina Calsolaro. Marie was a graduate of Cathedral Academy High School and a communicant of the former St. Teresa of Avila Church and the Parish of Mater Christi.  

Marie was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes, where she had many friends and shared many good times. She took great pride and joy from her home and vegetable and flower gardens and enjoyed Sunday and holiday gatherings of friends and family at her home.

 In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Charles, sister Angeline Battibulli, and great-granddaughter Hope Ann. She is survived by her sons Charles (Madelyn) Thorne and Richard Thorne; her grandchildren Jessica Ann Kuftiak (Steven), Alison Marie Thorne, Michael Charles Thorne; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and the LoPonto Cousins.

 Thank you to the nurses and staff of St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital, the staff at Hospice for their care and compassion.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of Mater Christi, Hurst Ave. & Hopewell St., Albany, on Friday, November 8th, at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the church prior to the mass from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
