Barbara Jean Larochelle

ALBANY – Barbara Jean Severino Salisbury Larochelle, born April 9, 1953, died surrounded by family on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a valiant struggle with cancer.  She attended Albany High School, and held several positions within retail and food services throughout her life, but in 1971 she began her most serious profession as a mother.  Barb lived with kindness and remarkable strength. She had the best stories and her laugh could bring a smile to anyone’s face.  An avid gardener, she loved time outside, taking walks, and cherishing her beloved cats. She will be deeply missed.

Barb was the oldest daughter of the late Alfred P. and Jean L. Severino of Albany. She was predeceased by her former husband Edward M. Salisbury Sr.; her brother James R. Severino; and her dear friend Luther Landy.  Barb is survived by her six children Lori Seeberger (Todd), Cheri Led Duke (Donald Jr.), Sandi Lontos (Edward), Edward Salisbury Jr. (Rosanna), Catherine Salisbury, and Jennifer Fouche (Philip).  She leaves behind her sixteen grandchildren, Adriana, Gabriella, Logan, Landon, Ava, Ian, Austin, Alex, Jake, Noah, Katina, Nicholas, Matthew, Gianni, Valentina, and Emily. Survivors also include several cousins, dear friends, and treasured cats: Patches and Mocha.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Barb’s life on Sunday April 8, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave, Albany.  A private burial will take place.  Those who wish may make a donation in Barb’s memory to either the Humane Society or American Cancer Society.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
