MECHANICVILLE – Betty A. Golden, 87, formerly of Latham, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, August 12, 2022. She joins her beloved husband of 54 years, George Mills Golden. Betty was born in Troy, the daughter of the late Andrew “Andy” Ehring and Anna Hillabrandt Ehring. Sister to Mary Ehring Merrills and late Mike Ehring. She attended Troy High School. Betty was employed by GEX for many years and Factron prior to retiring. Mom’s favorite pastimes were spending time with family, reading, traveling and photography. Her love for family and adventures transcended effortlessly into wonderful memories that will be forever in our hearts. She and Dad loved camping, traveling in their motor home in their earlier years, and spending time in their Florida winter home. Mom loved the warmth of the sun and sharing all she had with family and friends.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, George, in 2009. She is survived by her children, Tina Niland (Tom), Judy Yaroschuck (Jerry), and George Daniel Golden (Joan); her best friends, Frances Catalfamo and Rick and Stacy Welch; her grandchildren, Alisha Harris (Barry Pryor), Justin Niland (Kara), Jaclyn Simmons (Robert), Danielle Shanahan, Alexandra and Conor Golden; her great-grandchildren, Kasey and Austin Wagoner, Isabella Welch, Ella and Jack Shanahan, Brooks and Finnley Niland, Eric, Jacob, Ryan, Juliana and Izabella Harris, Brandon, Alex and Emily Pryor, and Evan Simmons; and her great-great-grandchildren, Colton, Paisley, and Spencer Wagoner. She was predeceased by her sweet grandchildren, Kristen Niland and Zachary Harris.

In keeping with Betty’s wishes an anatomical gift was made to Albany Medical College. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
