SCHENECTADY – Carolyn Ann Thomas, 69, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Ellis Hospital. Surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born in Troy, NY and lived in Schenectady most of her life.
Carolyn loved deeply and was passionately dedicated to her family and community. She loved spending time with family and friends especially her trips to Maine with her dear friends Marcia and Mary. She also loved cooking and painting.
Carolyn served as a County Legislator and narrowly missed being elected to the Schenectady City Counsel under Mayor Frank Duci.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Bertha (Orr) McNeff.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Leandra and her children Shannon and Naudia Smith of Glenville and her Daughter-in-law Maria Della Porta and her grandchildren, Alexander, Angelina, and Isabella Thomas of Southington, Connecticut. She is predeceased by her son Eric Thomas and her brothers Jack and Thomas McNeff and her sister Loretta Washock. She is also survived by her brother George (Sally) McNeff and her sister Patricia Muller and sister-in-law’s Elaine and Karen McNeff and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 6, at 11:00AM at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 1241 State St, Schenectady, NY. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
