Carolyn S. Scanlon

ALBANY – Carolyn S. Scanlon, 65, of Albany, NY entered eternal life on Monday, April 10, 2023, after a long battle with kidney disease.  Born in Albany, NY, she was a graduate of Albany High School and the University of Maryland (summa cum laude). She was predeceased by her mother Helena C. Scanlon and father Francis L Scanlon.  She is survived by her beloved daughter Cassidy Scanlon of Berne, and her very cherished grandchildren, Tabatha Fitzpatrick-Morris (Chris) of Latham, and Colin Fitzpatrick of Berne.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially teaching her grandchildren the culinary arts (baking was her specialty), crafting, and puzzles.  She loved the ocean, the beach and warm sunny weather and spent many winters in Florida, living in the moment.  She’ll always be remembered for her amazing intelligence, compassion and creative thinking.  She had a wicked ‘Irish” humor, a stubborn streak, and a healthy dose of humility that kept her grounded. She faced adversity and many challenges head-on with dignity and strength.
