Catherine E. Carr

Catherine E. Carr, 87, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Teresian House Nursing Home in Albany.  Catherine was born in Queens, the daughter of the late Joseph Rapisarda and Ruth Pastor.  She was raised in Brooklyn, and lived most of her life in Dutchess and Columbia Counties until moving to Greenville eight years ago.  She attended The Juilliard School for a time, and was employed as a case worker for many years by the Dutchess County Dept. of Social Services.  She was an avid reader, a professional pianist and organist, and taught music to people of all ages.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Carr, her son Charles Orion Carr, and her daughters Cadie Salvatore and Julie Salvatore.  She is survived by her children Joseph Domino (Pam), Sr. Leda Domino, O.Carm., and Vanessa Vogel (Peter); and her grandchildren Jillian Upham, Steven Domino (Kelly), Daniel Rickmers (Reera), and Zoe Vogel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville, on Friday, December 29^th at 10:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Stanfordville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to The American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF).
