CAMBRIDGE – Christa Louise Caron, 58, formerly of Cambridge, NY, passed away on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022. Christa was born to her loving parents, David and Cecile Caron. She was a graduate of SUNY Geneseo where she received degrees in English and Art History, and later graduated from Maria College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Christa was inquisitive and open to new ideas which fueled her inspiration for several occupations and hobbies.
Christa began her career working as a mental health and nutritional health counselor in various settings. She also worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant for local schools and several skilled nursing facilities. As a Director of Activities, Christa alongside her friendly therapy dog “Lady Coco Chanel” shared “their” love for reading, art, dance and gardening with the residents of Hoosick Falls Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Christa’s creativity and adventurous spirit led her to many hobbies, including photography, cake decorating, knitting, weaving, felting, painting, sculpture, traveling and raising chickens. Christa also possessed the unusual talents of dowsing for water and knowing the Latin names of perennials and shrubs without any formal training! Christa and her husband paired their talents in the design and development of “Beloved Farm”, a wedding venue in Cambridge, NY. Her memory is forever preserved in the artful landscape, perennial gardens and antique crystal chandeliers that Christa brought to life!
Christa’s buoyant outlook on life and ability to manifest her biggest dreams were an inspiration to her children. Her unconditional love lives on through her children, forever encouraging them to dive deep into their creative passions, pursue their dreams, and find ways to help others.
Christa exemplified that the power of love and caring can change the world with each occupation, hobby and relationship she participated in. Christa truly lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues and former patients.
Christa is survived by her husband Bill Badgley, her children Zachary and Ollie Caron-Noble; her step-children Jenna and Kayla Badgley; her parents David and Cecile Caron; her sister Renee King; her brothers Nicholas and Chad Caron; and several in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the staff of Crescent Manor Rehabilitation for their commitment to providing compassionate and loving care to Christa during her residency on the Memory Care Unit.
A celebration of Christa’s life will be held at Beloved Farm in Cambridge, NY on Sunday, August 28th, from 1-3 p.m. A second celebration for life, for immediate family, will be held in Connecticut on September 10th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crescent Manor’s “Christa Caron Memorial Fund” at Crescent Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation, 312 Crescent Blvd., Bennington VT 05201. These funds will help long term residents purchase equipment to help improve their “quality” of life, as this was Christa Caron’s lifelong mission as a healthcare provider, artist and genuine lover of life!
