Christine M. Alund

MECHANICVILLE – Christine “Chrissy” Alund, beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away suddenly on a sunny Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2024, at the young age of 55, in Albany, New York.

Christine was born November 30, 1968 in Albany, New York, on a Saturday. She was welcomed into this world as the final daughter of the Alund family, by her mother Margaret and father John Alund. As the youngest of six, Christine navigated this world forever surrounded by her loving family. With her three older brothers Art, John, and Fred Alund, and her two older sisters Cathy and Colleen Alund, her childhood was filled with nothing but joy and well-deserved company. 

In 1996 she met her husband James, who helped bring up her son and soon gave birth to two daughters to complete their loving family.  Christine bartended at the Hilton Garden Inn in Saratoga, New York, for 10 years, leaving a long and lasting impact on both her coworkers and the regulars at her bar.  She was a strong force to be reckoned with; a helpful, charismatic, and outgoing person that never failed at making you smile and feel at home. She had a great love for music—country music especially—and was known to pursue all of her passions with great enthusiasm. A chatty bartender who made all her regulars feel incredibly welcomed, a caring friend who was eager to spread cheer, and a loving mother, sister, and aunt to all who were lucky enough to call her family. Above all else, Christine was a doting mother who always expressed unyielding care, affection, and love towards her three children; Joshua Washock, Savannah Ingram, and Abigail Ingram.

Christine is predeceased by her parents Margaret and John Alund, and beloved Nephew Joey. She is survived by her husband James “Jim” Ingram Jr.; her son Joshua “Josh”; her daughters Savannah and Abigail “Abbi;” brothers Art Pightling and sister-in-law Kim, John, Fred and sister-in-law Catherine Alund; sisters Cathy, Colleen and brother-in-law Rick Moran; cousin James; nieces Anna (husband Louie) and Brandi; nephews Alex (wife Rachel), Brandon, and John; great niece and nephews Chelsea (husband Steve), Blake (wife Gabby), Noah (wife Melina), and Charlie, great great nephews Giovanni, Laken, Raleigh, and Tony. 

Christine will always be in our thoughts, for our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them. As a mother, it’s believed that she’d want her likeness and strength to be remembered with a smile. In the words of Dr. Seuss, taken from one of the books that she read to her children:

“Remember me and smile, for it’s better to forget than to remember me and cry.”  -Dr. Seuss, Oh The Places You’ll Go!

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday afternoon at 1:00pm.
