ALBANY – Donald J. Curtis, 75, of Albany, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn. Don was born in Albany and lived here his entire life. He was a graduate of Albany High School and earned the certification of Master Plumber. He was employed for a time by Sterling-Winthrop Research Institute in Rensselaer, and then formed his own plumbing practice, Curtis Plumbing & Heating. He also served as president of the Albany Licensed Plumbers Association, and later was employed by several other plumbing concerns. Throughout Don’s life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him and performed a variety of pastoral ministries. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Girls Basketball team coached by his son-in-law. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his loving wife Linda A. Mirella Curtis; his children Stacey Galvin (Tom) of Glenmont, and Christopher Curtis (Kelly Kurposka) of Albany; his sister Nancy Holligan (Charles) of Saratoga Springs; his sister-in-law Cindy Bosley (Terry); and his nephews John McHale and Jason Holligan. He was predeceased by his mother Irene Bosler, stepfather Carl Bosler, and sister-in-law Kathleen Schinnerer.
Don’s family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care of the St. Peter’s Hospital ICU and Hospice staff and the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9-11 a.m. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
