Francesco Multari

ALBANY – Francesco “Frank” Multari, 95, of Albany, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 3, 2023, at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was the son of the late Giuseppe and Elisabetta Multari. Frank was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, and came to the United States after World War II. Frank and his dear wife Angelina grew up together in Italy and were married for 54 blessed years. They worked together to build a successful rental business and raised 4 wonderful children. They took great pride and pleasure in all the people they met along the way. Frank was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his work and was a skilled and talented craftsman.  He enjoyed nature, especially tending to his many gardens and certainly his fig trees, which he lovingly planted, cultivated and harvested year after year. The first ripe figs of the season were a great source of pride and he made sure to gift them to his family and close friends. Wine making was another family tradition that Frank enjoyed. His family has many happy memories recalling the care and attention he gave to every yearly vintage.  More than anything, Frank simply enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved talking with his children and especially his grandchildren about his heritage and culture.  He will be dearly missed and his energy and spirit will be cherished forever.

Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Angelina Multari.  He is survived by his loving children, Frank Multari, Jr. (Katherine) of Saratoga Springs, Lily Ann Scanlon (Patrick) of Slingerlands, Joel Multari of Albany, and Jeffrey Multari of Guilderland; his cherished grandchildren, Jillian Corinne, Whitney Lynne, Jeffrey Angelo and Angelina Maria Multari; and his brother Vittorio Multari of Genova, Italy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by several brothers, Michele, Salvatore, Alfredo, Giovanni and Domenico Multari.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family and will include a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, Albany, and interment in Memory Gardens, Colonie.  There will be no calling hours.
