Herbert A. Bennett

SCHENECTADY – Herbert A. Bennett, 85, of Schenectady passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.  Mr. Bennett was born in Brooklyn, the son of the late Able Bennett and Dorothy Schmidt Bennett.  He had lived in Schenectady since the early 1960’s.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his nieces Dorothy J. Posluszny (John), Rosemarie Greer (William), Maureen Faught (Jonathan), and Kathleen Wickham (Mark), all of Schenectady; his nephews Henry Lionarons (Deborah) of Pattersonville, and Ernest Lionarons (Jacquelin) of Ballston Spa; twelve great nieces and nephew; and sixteen great great nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sisters Julia Lionarons, Dorothy Luce, and Mary Bennett; and by his nephew Robert Lionarons.

Mr. Bennett donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program of the Albany Medical College.  There will be no calling hours, but a celebration of his life will be held at a future date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.  Memorial contributions in Herb’s name may be made to Community Hospice, 1411 Union St, Schenectady, NY 12308.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or send a sympathy card, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
