ALBANY – Jack G. Weisberg, 83, formerly of Plantation, FL, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Jack was born in Harlem, the son of the late Morris A. Weissberg, and Sadie Hausman Weissberg. He was raised in Brooklyn and lived in Queens and on Long Island for many years before moving to Florida fifteen years ago. He was employed for many years by Century Factors, and then by Marshall’s Department Store. Jack was a voracious reader, and enjoyed films and baseball. He was a fan of the New York Giants baseball team, and then of the New York Mets. Jack will be remembered by his family and friends as an amazing father, wonderful husband, a loyal and dedicated friend, and a loving grandfather.
Jack is survived by his wife Maxine Barile; his children Jack J. Weisberg (Courtney) of Delmar, Dominick Weisberg (Nancy) of Troy, and Jennifer Wallace (David) of Albany; his former wife Josephine Barbella of Albany; and his grandchildren Harper and Gabriel Wallace, and Noah and Olivia Weisberg.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday afternoon at 2:00. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Friday from 12:00-2:00 pm. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
