ALBANY – James E. Scully, 76, of Albany died Monday, August 17, 2009 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Mr. Scully was born in Albany, and lived here all his life. He was employed as a plumber and steamfitter through the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 7 in Albany. He was employed on the construction of the Empire State Plaza, at Knolls Atomic Power Lab in West Milton, and by the State University in Albany. He was a member and past president of the Lake Onderdonk Improvement Association, and a longtime member of the Albany Elks.
Mr. Scully was predeceased by his wife June A. Scully in 1994. He is survived by his son Shawn M. Scully of Albany; his daughter Susan Springsteen of Delmar; his grandchildren Aarika, Nicole, and Christopher Hardy, and Mariah Springsteen; and by his great granddaughter Aalyce Hoke, daughter of Aarika, born just August 15th.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday morning at 11:00. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5-7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
