ALBANY – James J. Klee, 89, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital after a courageous battle with liver cancer.  Jim was born in Cohoes on July 15, 1923.  He served in World War II as a staff sergeant with the 114th Army Airways Communication Systems Squadron receiving three medals for service in the U.S., Egypt and Bahrain.  He received an honorable discharge on March 16, 1946.  Jim was employed in accounting at several health care facilities, and retired as comptroller of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home after 18 years of service.  He loved golf and bowling and vacations at Cape Cod and Rockport.

Jim was predeceased by his parents William & Margaret Murphy Klee, his sister Jean and his brother William.  He is survived by the love of his life of 55 years, his wife Ruth Brecht Klee; his dear children David Klee, Barbara Ableman (Glenn), and Nancy Taylor (James), his granddaughters Ashley, Carrie & Brittany Ableman, and Darlene Dollar.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Wednesday morning at 11:00.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.  The family suggests memorial contributions to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 160 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12206.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, send a sympathy card, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
