DELANSON – On Friday, July 19, 2024, Jean Eleanor Frisbee (nee Farley) passed away at the age of 85 after a brief illness. Jean was a life-long Capital Region resident. A 1957 graduate of Vincentian Institute and a 1988 graduate of Maria College. Jean retired in 2002 from the Department of Taxation and Finance after 22 years of service. She had a lifetime involvement with the Democratic party in Albany County: the daughter of the late George A. Farley, Albany County Purchasing Agent and Katherine L. Farley, Albany Secretary to the Common Council. She was an Election Inspector for 30+ years for the Democratic party in Albany County and a past president of the St. Margaret Mary's School Mother's Association. Most recently Jean was a Democratic Committee-person for the Town of Duanesburg and an Election Inspector there. In November, 2004 Jean was elected as a Town Board Member in the Town of Duanesburg; the first Democrat in years. Jean was a member of the Duanesburg Senior Citizens, the Duanesburg Historical Society, the Duanesburg Parks Commission and was a driver for the Duanesburg Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
Jean was pre-deceased by her husband, Ronald R. Frisbee; brothers John J. Farley and George A. Farley. She is survived by three children, Richard Joseph Dewey, Dr. Katherine Margaret Dewey, and Robert John Dewey; daughters-in-law Diane Allen Dewey and Cindy Peddie Dewey and son-in-law Dr. Craig S. Siegel; and seven grandchildren Dr. John Allen Dewey, Sean Ashton Dewey, Allison Helen Dewey, Noah Alvin Siegel, Olivia Rose Siegel, Caleb Richard Siegel, and Ashton Douglas Dewey. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many cherished friends. Finally she is remembered by the many doggies, kitties, chickens, birds and other critters that she loved and cared for so much.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming — Wow, what a ride."
