Joseph Mathew

ALBANY – Joseph Mathew, 67, of Albany, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his home.  Mr. Mathew was born in India, but had lived in Albany since 1977.  He was employed by the New York State Education Department for many years. 

Mr. Mathew is survived by his beloved wife Soosamma Mathew; his son Joseph Mathew (Preethy) of Congers; his sister Mariamma Saviour (Thomas); his late sister Chinnamma (Joseph); his brother Kuruvilla Mathew (Theyyamma); his sister Leelamma Chacko (Vackachan); his grandchildren Lorelei and Derek Mathew; and by several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Rev. Fr. Gheevarughese Thomas Corespiscopa, Kurian Chattathil, and Peter Thomas and family.

Funeral services will be held at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 1580 Central Ave., Albany 12205 on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1:00pm.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the Pine Grove Church on Friday from 6:00-9:00pm, or Saturday from 11:30-1:00pm.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Albany.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, send a sympathy card, or obtain directions to the church, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
