Joseph V. Arnold, Sr.

ALBANY – Joe Arnold passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Albany Medical Center with his family by his side.

Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY to Guy and Elizabeth Arnold and moved to Albany as a child.  He married his high school sweetheart, Judy, when they were 18 and celebrated their 60^th wedding anniversary before her passing.  Prior to beginning his 42-year banking career, Joe worked as a carpenter and electrician, skills he put to use in building their home in 1961.  He was a true do-it-yourselfer; there wasn’t anything he could not do, from auto repair to home improvement projects.  He was loved by all, had a great wit and sense of humor.  He was patient and generous with his time and talents.  He truly left his mark on this world and all those he encountered.  He leaves behind his three children; Joe Jr (Jill), Judi Burkhard (Matt) and Jack (Beth) and eight grandchildren; Rachel and Jake Arnold; Brian, Emily and Abby Burkhard; Casey, Erin (Tom Foulds) and Calin Arnold; and his loving sisters Barbara Arnold and Patricia Nixon.

He will be missed but never forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, September 22^nd, at 9:00 a.m. in All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St. (behind CVS), Albany.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany on Thursday, September 21^st , from 4-6 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lake George Conservancy, 4905 Lake Shore Dr, Bolton Landing, NY 12814.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
