Kathryn H. Knipes

GUILDERLAND - Kathryn Cox Holway Knipes, 95, of Guilderland, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Kathryn was born in Rutland, VT, the daughter of the late Raymond Holway and Kathryn Cox Holway. She attended Rutland City schools and Russell Sage College in Troy. She taught Sunday school in Rutland, VT and in Albany. She also was a yoga instructor from 1979-1999, teaching classes of Hatha Yoga at SUNY Albany, Hudson Valley Community College, Russell Sage College and Adult Education Programs, for both Colonie and Bethlehem CSD. She was also a supervisory assistant for fifteen years at the Kenwood Child Development Center in Albany.

Kathryn is survived by her beloved husband Richard E. Knipes; her children Bradford Knipes of Shutesbury, MA, Kevin Knipes of East Pittsford, VT, and Joseph Knipes of Jackson Heights, NY; and by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children Stephen Knipes, and Sarah Horan, and by her sister Nancy Holway and her brother William Holway.
