Lawrence D. Walker

ALBANY – Lawrence D. Walker, 66, of Albany, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.  He was born October 17, 1954 in Watervliet, the son of the late Frank and Rose Morelli Walker. Lawrence graduated from Albany High in 1972.  He was a successful business owner, and an award-winning Real Estate Broker for 26 years.  He had a way of creating a connection with people and making everyone feel like family.  In his earlier years, he was known as Kato.  He played in local bands such as Tommy and the Originals, Your Move, and Kicks.  He filled his home with music, playing many instruments and constantly writing songs.  He carried his passion for music throughout his life.  His passing leaves a painfully empty place in the hearts of anyone who knew him.  He treasured time with his family and was generous with his talents.

Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years Ann Dollard Walker.  Together they raised four incredible sons, Kerry J. Walker (Cara), Peter L. Walker (Emilee), Nicholas J. Walker, and Thomas P. Walker (Samantha Armentano).  He is also survived by his grandchildren Peter L. Walker, Elora G. Walker, Miles J. Walker, Simon K. Walker, and Samuel L. Walker; his siblings June Bowen, James Walker, Linda Hedman (Ed), and Kenneth Walker (Debra); and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.   He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law Gene Bowen and his sister-in-law Sandy Walker.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Wednesday, May 19th, from 4-7 p.m.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
