Lillian M. Bellinger

GUILDERLAND – Lillian Mae Bellinger came into this world on September 22, 1929, and left it the same day, 92 years later.  Born in Berne to Aaron and Dora Deitz Warner, Lillian grew up on a working farm with her sister, Helen, and twin brothers Francis and Frank.  When Lillian was a teenager, she took a job at the New York Telephone company.  It was on her route to work that her beloved husband of 63 years, Carl Martin Bellinger, recently home from Iwo-Jima, laid eyes on her.  Instantly enamored, Carl begged the woman he was staying with to set him up on a date to attend a dance that evening.  Unaware of her admirer, Lillian was surprised when her mother received a call asking for permission to take her out.

Lillian and Carl married on June 29, 1947 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, and over the next 74 years, Lillian enjoyed her life in Westmere, traveling the world and surrounded by her loving family.  Lillian retired from AT&T in 1990.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband Carl in 2011.  She leaves behind her daughters Marcia Jones (Dennis Jones) and Sharon Genhofer (John Hebda); her grandchildren Shane Jones (Melanie LaBarge), Blake Jones (Caitlin Jones), Rachele Feisthamel (Kevin Feisthamel), Alexa Rasmussen (Brandon Rasmussen), Nicole Jones, and Aidan Genhofer (Sara Rivest); her great grandchildren Julian Jones, Ryann and Brooks Jones, Gigi Feisthamel, and Nash Rasmussen; her former son-in-law Bruce Genhofer; and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Sunday afternoon at 5p.m.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Sunday prior to the service from 2-5 p.m.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie, at 11 a.m. Monday.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Guilderhaven, Inc. 6655 State Route 158, Altamont, NY 12009.  To leave a message of condolence for the family or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
