Linda J. Headley-Walker

DUBLIN, OH – Linda Jane Dascher Headley-Walker, 79, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023 in Dublin, Ohio surrounded by her family.  Born June 9th, 1944, in Albany, New York, Linda was the daughter of the late Fredrick L. Dascher, Jr. and Jane Seim Dascher.  After Graduating from Guilderland High School in 1962, Linda attended SUNY Buffalo earning both a Bachelors and a Master of Science in Art Education. Over her 25+ year career as an educator her roles were varied, from classroom instructor at Schenectady County Community College to Associate Dean of Regents College within the New York State Education Department. She served as president of the Continuing Education Association and later as an influential administrator for the NYS GED testing program where she received national recognition for her innovative work. Linda was a pioneer in distance learning and a staunch advocate for continuing education for adults.

Upon retiring, she moved to Bonita Springs, Florida where she became a skilled quilter and volunteered at the Bonita Springs Historical Society.  Linda, one of the original soccer moms will be remembered for her artistic abilities and passion for art, her dedication to civil service and lifelong learning, her love of dogs, college football Saturdays, rock n roll, decorating and cooking with friends. She was committed to her family, loved sailing and being on the water and had an incredible smile and a sense of humor.

Linda is survived by her son, Brett Walker (Susan) and grandchildren Ethan and Eliza Walker of Marshfield, Massachusetts, her daughter Lori Walker-Hock (Chris Hock) of Delaware, Ohio, her sister Sharen Dascher Dombrowski of Albany, NY and an extensive group of cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved.  Per Linda’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
