Linnett Idorah Facey

COLONIE - Linnett Idorah Facey, 74, of Colonie, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025. She was a woman of grace, strength, and kindness, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and generosity that will forever be cherished.

 Born in Jamaica to Astin Facey and Celestine (Brown) Facey, Linnett was a gifted fashion designer, using her remarkable talent to create beautiful, handcrafted garments that brought joy and confidence to many. Her passion for fashion was more than a profession it was an expression of her creativity and dedication to making others feel their best.

She later migrated to the United States, settling in Brooklyn, NY, where she transitioned into the nursing field, dedicating herself to caring for others with the same compassion she showed to her family and friends. Eventually, she relocated to Albany, NY, where she worked at Albany Medical Center until her retirement.

 Beyond her career, Linnett found joy in baking, filling her home with warmth and the sweet aroma of her delicious creations. She also had a love for travel, embracing new experiences and cultures with enthusiasm. She will be remembered for her kind heart, welcoming spirit, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones. Linnett is survived by her six children and nine grandchildren, who will continue to honor her memory and cherish the love and wisdom she shared with them.

Calling hours will be held at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave, Albany, on Saturday, February 15th, from 12 to 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. She will be laid to rest in her homeland, with burial taking place in Palm District, St. Catherine, Jamaica, on April 12th. Linnett, your love, strength, and creativity will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, knowing you were deeply cherished.
