Lora May

BALLSTON SPA - Lora May, 83 of Ballston Spa, New York passed away April 22, 2024 in her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She fought a long, courageous battle with grace, dignity and undeniable strength.  

Lora was born in Smolensk, Russia and resided in London, Ontario and Ballston Spa, New York. She was a strong, fun-loving, fierce woman with so many friends and interests. Food, shopping, and family were some of her passions and a fun trip to the casino, or somewhere warm, always made her happy.  Lora loved her community at Trieble Village in Ballston Spa and enjoyed spending time with her friend's playing bingo, gardening, and visiting. You would never see Lora without her beloved dog Lilly, her sidekick, and best friend.  

Lora was predeceased by her parents Iwan and Agrippina Woltschkow, her husband Benjamin James May, her sons Peter May and Robert May, and grandsons Benjamin May, Seth May, and Cade May. Lora is survived by her children Sonia May, John May, Karen Carey (Robert); her grandchildren Tara May, Julie May, Dakota May, Alexandrea May, Cassandra Meeker (Michael), Bradley May, Rachael Ellis (Ryan), Scotland May, and Jaclyn Preece (Connor), and many great-grandchildren and fur-babies.  

As much as Lora didn’t want to leave her family, she was ready to meet Jesus and declared her journey on earth fulfilled. She selflessly donated her body to Albany Medical College Anatomical Gift Program.
