McKOWNVILLE – Mary H. Stock, a longtime resident of McKownville, died on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Leo E., Sr. and Helen (Simpson) Stock, the sister of Leo E. Stock, Jr., and Walter A. Stock; the aunt of two nephews and a niece. She has had the support and friendship of many cousins.
A graduate of Vincentian Institute, she lived in Albany until her move to McKownville in 1968. Employed by the former New York Telephone Company, she held various management level positions in the Disbursement Accounting Office of the Comptroller’s Department, taking her pension in 1984 after 37 years of service.
In the ensuing years, she volunteered in the community. She has been a Board Member of the Women’s Council of the Albany Institute of History and Art and of the friends of the Schuyler Mansion. Her volunteer work as a member of the Auxiliary of St. Peter’s Hospital was recognized with several awards. In addition, she volunteered in the office of the Church of St. Vincent de Paul. She was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers of America.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 900 Madison Ave, Albany on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
