SCHENECTADY – Mary M. Kruszenski Hallenbeck, 95, formerly of Guilderland, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Mary was born in Kingston, the daughter of the late Stanley Kruszenski and Hilda Kelsch Kruszenski. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Hudson, where she met her husband of 67 years, George Hallenbeck. They moved to Albany in 1972. Mary was employed by Price Chopper for many years. An avid hiker and canoer, Mary was a member of the Adirondack Mt. Club and a 46er, among many other outdoor accomplishments. She and her husband traveled the US and Canada extensively in their cozy motor home.
Mary loved people and thrived on her valued friendships, both old and new. She considered them her priceless treasures.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Hallenbeck, in 2013. She is survived by her children Sandra Hill (Lawrence), Lisa Reid (Brian), and Steven Hallenbeck (Mary); her grandchildren Rebecca Coon (Brian), Brian McCue (Tina), Kyle McCabe (Megan), Breanne Elliott (Nathan), Andrew and Victoria Hallenbeck, and Logan Reid; her great grandchildren, Cooper, Hailey and Xavier; niece and nephew, Debra and David Kruszenski. She was predeceased by her daughter Eileen McCue, and by her brother Joseph Kruszenski.
The family extend their deepest gratitude to the staff and residents of Parkland Garden Apts. for their kindness, support and friendship. Many thanks to Hospice for their guidance and compassion, and to Mary’s personal caregivers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, August 18th, at 9:00 a.m. in All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany (behind CVS). Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave, Albany on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery at 11:30 a,m Thursday August 18th.
