Ray E. Barnard

ALBANY – Ray E.  Barnard, 72, of Albany, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Teresian House.  Mr. Barnard was born in Auburn, NY, and lived much of his life in Cayuga, NY before coming to Albany in 1986.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was employed as a carpenter and construction supervisor for the Currier Construction Co.  He also was a member of the Cayuga Fire Department.

Mr. Barnard is survived by his wife Leslie A. Barnard and her four children and their son Justin Barnard of Schenectady; his sister Joan Diefendorf of Arizona; and by six grandchildren.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Infant of Prague Chapel, Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Interment services will be held at a later date in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of NENY, 4 Pine West Plaza, Albany, NY 12205.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home, Albany.  To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
