Regina Nisch

ALBANY – Regina Nisch, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Teresian House Nursing Home.  Regina was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Samycia.  She married George H. Nisch in 1956 and they settled down in Albany and raised two children, Christina and Eric, who they adopted.  They loved them as their own.  They lived in one house since they were married, and that home is now owned by their granddaughter in keeping with George’s wishes that the house stay in the family.  Regina was employed by a number of local law firms as a stenographer, and retired from the New York State Office of the Attorney General.

Regina was predeceased by her husband George in 2020, and by her daughter Christina New in 2019.  She is survived by her son Eric Nisch; her grandchildren Eric D. Nisch, Alicia Nisch (Dan Brown), Danielle New (Josh DeJesus), and Peter New (Layne Avveduti); her great grandchildren Autumn Nisch and Apryl Nisch.

Funeral services were held privately with interment in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Hans Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Regina’s memory may be made to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com .
