Rose Mary Vergura

ALBANY - Rose M. Vergura passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, just a few weeks before her 102 birthday. She lived in Albany, NY her whole life and retired from the NYS Dept. of Tax and Finance. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church.

Rose was predeceased by her parents Genaro and Lucia Gioeni; her husband Anthony and son Joseph Vergura; her sister Edith (Gioeni) DiMura; and her brothers Anthony (Tony) and Vincenzo (Jimmy) Gioeni. She is survived by her brother Salvatore (Sammy) Gioeni many nieces, nephews , cousins and cherished friends. 

Rose enjoyed life for many years at Peregrine Guilderland Assisted Living and most recently lived at Shaker Place nursing home. Both facilities gave her amazing care so she could relax and enjoy life.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave, Albany on Monday, November 25, 2024 at noon.  Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
