Roy F. Elk

WESTERLO – Roy Francis Elk passed away Dec. 12, 2022 after a brief illness. Born April 9, 1941 to Edwin Eugene and Edna Mae (Charlebois) Elk, and raised in Union Hill New York on the family farm.  Roy attended Webster High School (’59), SUNY Morrisville (’63) and SUNY Albany (’66) earning a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration. He continued on at SUNY Albany in the Educational Communication Center retiring in November 2014 from Desktop Services Group as Associate in Educational Communication.

Roy was predeceased by his parents, brothers Eugene and Glenn, second wife Lia Catalano Elk, son Brian J. Elk and niece Joyce Elk Mirabella. He is survived by his wife Karen Kopanski, her son Stephen Fontanelli, step-daughter Marie (Catalano) Crawford (Michael), grandson Andrew Crawford of Delmar New York, step-daughter Michelle Catalano of Dixfield Maine, daughter-in-law Karen A. Elk, and grandchildren Amber and Zachary Elk. Also survived by extended family and friends.
