SCOTIA – Sandra Elizabeth (Crowley) Weidman, 82, of the Scotia-Glenville, NY area and Ormond Beach, FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. She joined her husband, Bruce, the day prior to their 55th wedding anniversary.
Born and raised in Albany, Sandy attended St. Margaret Mary’s and graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1958. In 1967, Sandy married Bruce Weidman of Scotia, and they had a son, James (Jim). Sandy worked as a secretary for the State of New York for many years, from which she retired. In their retirement, Sandy and Bruce wintered in sunny Florida and enjoyed beautiful summers in the Adirondacks. Sandy loved to travel, from local trips in the pick-up camper as a young family, to cruising to Alaska and the Panama Canal in retirement. She also enjoyed spending time with both new and lifelong friends, doing puzzles, playing pickleball and golf, and eating ice cream whenever possible. Sandy was especially proud of her grandchildren, Sarah and Ben.
Sandy was predeceased by her parents, James and Ann (Sedlak) Crowley, brother James Crowley, sister Gloria (Crowley) Malone, brother-in-law John Malone, and husband Bruce Weidman. She is survived by her son, James Weidman, his wife, Kasey, grandchildren Sarah and Benjamin Weidman, as well as niece Nancy (Malone) Palamar and family, nephew John Malone and family, sister-in-law Camille LaViolette, cousins, and many close friends.
Visiting hours will be held 5-7 pm on Tuesday, December 27th at Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave, Albany, and a funeral mass will be Wednesday, December 28th at 9:00 am at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., in Albany, NY.
