ALBANY – Virginia “Ginger” Anne Munniger Berlin, 64, of Albany, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Ginger was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Margaret J. Craugh and Karl Otto Munninger, Sr. She attended Arizona State University, and lived in Arizona, Vancouver, BC, Washington State, and Florida before returning to Albany in 2000. She was employed as a swimming coach at the Rudy A. Ciccotti Center, and was a member of the Albany Elks Lodge #49.
Ginger is survived by her beloved husband Bryan N. Berlin; her children Eric Berlin (Jessica) of Saratoga Springs, Nick Berlin (Emily) of Albany, and Paul Berlin of Albany; her grandchildren Ashley Didonna, Daniel Stark, and Joseph, Jocelyn, and Logan Berlin; her brother Adrian Formel (Michelle) of Burlington, VT; and her niece Adriana Formel. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her stepfather Paul F. Formel, M.D.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 3-6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
